The Lincoln memorial
In a city filled with icons, the Grand Lincoln Memorial is a particularly special place to visit in D.C.This memorial is a tribute to Abraham Lincoln, the 16th president of the United States, who not only led the country through its Civil War but also worked tirelessly to abolish slavery and promote the importance of national unity.
The structure’s stunning architecture is inspired by ancient Greek temples and is adorned with murals that depict Lincoln’s enduring legacy. It is truly impressive by how well-preserved it remains, allowing visitors to connect with history.
The Washington Monument
Just a short walk away stands the Washington Monument. Built to honor the United States’ first president, George Wahington. Standing at 555 feet, this obelisk structure is a symbol of the United States’ gratitude and respect to its most essential founding father.
You can clearly take a picture of it as it kisses the clouds in the sky and can even go inside to the top of the monument for a wonderful view. The monument beautifully encapsulates the greatness of our nation, where hopes and ambitions come to life. A striking reminder of America’s aspirations and dreams.
